A historic Catholic relic identified as Saint Francis of Assisi, Confessor and Founder of the Franciscan Order, accompanied by an ecclesiastical certificate dated 15 June 1959.

The handwritten Latin inscription identifies the relic as Ex sacris ossibus Sancti Francisci Assisiensis, Confessoris et Fundatoris Ordinis Fratrum Minorum — referring to the sacred bones of Saint Francis of Assisi, the renowned founder of the Order of Friars Minor.

The certificate was issued in Bari under the authority of Archbishop Marcello Mimmi. Its printed Latin text records the recognition and placement of the relic in a properly closed reliquary, with permission for its preservation and exposure for the veneration of the faithful, in accordance with the wording of the document.

The relic is housed in a traditional round wooden theca with a glass viewing window, decorative metallic trim, and a fabric label reading S. Francisci As.C. The warm-toned wooden case and carefully arranged interior reflect the traditional presentation of Catholic devotional relics.

Saint Francis of Assisi is one of the most beloved figures in Christian history, remembered for his humility, devotion to Christ, love of creation, and commitment to a life of poverty and service. His spiritual legacy continues to inspire Catholics and Christians around the world.
