Saint Padre Pio Relic Card | San Pio da Pietrelcina | Cloth Relic | Madonna delle Grazie Blessing Prayer
A devotional relic card of Saint Pio of Pietrelcina (Padre Pio, 1887–1968), the beloved Capuchin friar and stigmatist of San Giovanni Rotondo, made in Italy and protected in its original rigid clear plastic case.
One side shows San Pio da Pietrelcina raising his hand in blessing, wearing the brown Capuchin habit and the fingerless half-gloves he wore to cover the wounds of the stigmata. The other side depicts the crowned Madonna delle Grazie (Our Lady of Grace) with the Christ Child, crowned by angels — the Marian image so dear to Padre Pio, venerated in the friary church at San Giovanni Rotondo. Beneath it is his well-known blessing, followed by a facsimile of his signature:
“La Benedizione del Signore scenda su di te, sulla tua casa e su tutte le persone a te care.”
(“May the blessing of the Lord descend upon you, upon your home and upon all those dear to you.”)
Set into a radiant golden halo beside the prayer is a small round brown cloth relic, sealed beneath the case.
