Antique French Catholic Devotional Scapular
Beautiful antique French devotional scapular composed of two embroidered cloth panels connected by the original blue cord.
One side depicts Notre-Dame de Grâce (Our Lady of Grace), while the other features Notre-Dame du Mont Carmel (Our Lady of Mount Carmel), both rendered as traditional printed devotional images mounted on fabric and surrounded by hand embroidery.
Such scapulars were worn around the neck as expressions of Marian devotion and protection. They were popular among French Catholics during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
