Antique Catholic Relic of Sister Marie-Aimée de Jésus – Relic from Her Garment, Carmelite Devotional Card

£204.00

A rare antique Catholic relic card dedicated to Sister Marie-Aimée de Jésus (1839–1874), a French Discalced Carmelite mystic and spiritual writer.

The card contains a small textile relic, preserved in its original paper presentation. The French inscription directly identifies the fragment:

“Du vêtement de Sr Marie-Aimée de Jésus.”

“From the garment of Sister Marie-Aimée de Jésus.”

Sister Marie-Aimée de Jésus, born Dorothée Quoniam, entered the Carmelite monastery on Avenue de Saxe in Paris in 1859 and received the religious name Marie-Aimée de Jésus. She became known for her profound devotion to Christ and her writings on the Holy Soul of Jesus. She died in 1874 at the age of 35.

The relic is particularly interesting because it is associated with the personal clothing of the Carmelite sister herself, rather than simply being a printed devotional image. Comparable historical relic collections have specifically catalogued textile relics described as being from the garment of Sister Marie-Aimée de Jésus.

The card also features her portrait and a devotional prayer:

“Qui me donnera pouvoir sur les cœurs des hommes, pour les prendre et vous les donner, O Jésus, Fils de Dieu !”

A beautiful and historically significant piece for collectors of Carmelite relics, French Catholic devotional art, religious ephemera and relics associated with the Servants of God.
