The handwritten French inscription identifies the contents as:
“Relique de la crypte de St. Fabien et Sébastien avec lettre authentique du 14 août 1639”
(“Relic from the crypt of Saints Fabian and Sebastian with an authentic letter dated August 14, 1639.”)
