Antique Relic of Saint Julie Billiart | Original Wax-Sealed Relic Label | Notre Dame Foundress

A rare antique Catholic relic presentation associated with Saint Julie Billiart, foundress of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur.

This small original relic packet preserves an old printed Latin inscription identifying its contents as material taken from the veils in which the bones of Saint Julie Billiart were wrapped.

The inscription reads:

“Ex Velis quibus involuta fuerunt ossa S. P. Juliæ Billiart, Fundatricis Sororum N. D.”

The original paper is accompanied by a red ecclesiastical wax seal, now visibly aged and partially broken, adding to its historical character and preserving evidence of its original devotional presentation.

Saint Julie Billiart (1751–1816) was a French religious foundress and the spiritual mother of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur. She was beatified in 1906 and canonized in 1969.
